All firefighting members of this department are Arkansas Certified FireFighters and EMS First Responders.We've recieved our training and state certifications thru the Arkansas Fire Academy and the Arkansas Forestry Commission.In addition, most members have recieved various training and/or certifications thru other Agencies including the National Weather Service,Air-Evac,federal,state(ADEM) and local agencies and the National Fire Academy.Several members have also recieved other training and experience from being members of other Departments.

This department as with all other departments with-in Johnson County are now "NIMS" compliant."NIMS" stands for "National Incedent Management System"which is the command and control guidelines ,set forth bythe Department of Homeland Security.It will standardize the command /control of all fire depts. and emergency response agencies in the country.It will soon become another requirement for all Certified FireFighters and emergency response personnel.

Firefighters recieve training in a variety of areas including Structure ,Vehicle and Wildland/Brush firefighting,Apparatus/ Equipment operations,use of Personnel Protective Equipment,use of hoselines,fire extingishers,ladders,hand tools,salvage equipment,Haz-Mat awareness/operations and Fire Ground Management.Personnel and Public Safety are stressed at ALL times.

EMS First Responders recieve training in Advanced First Aid and Basic Life Support as well as Vehicle Extrication,Air-Evac/ Ambulance operations and related fields.First Responders also are Certified CPR/AED Tech.
