There are eleven rural districts and 3 township depts.(Coal Hill,,Lamar and Knoxville)in Johnson County with the county seat of Clarksville having it's own Fire Department.Although each dept./dist. is somewhat autonomous to itself,the upper level managament and supervision is maintained by the county. And at the present time all county depts. are radio dispatched by the county sheriff's office useing the newly inabled 911 system.Beside the communities listed,the other areas served in Johnson County are;
RFD #1~~Lake Ludwig RFD #2~~Harmony RFD #3~~Hagarville RFD #4~Hartman
RFD #5~~Flat Rock/Piney RFD #6~~Ozone RFD #8~~Hunt RFD #9~~Spadra
RFD #10~~Oark RFD #11~~Batson
All depts. serve their primary area but also serve as "Mutual Aid" depts.with their adjoining dists. and in some cases, adjoining counties.Those being Pope,Newton and Franklin counties.The county is also served by it's own volunteer water bourne search/rescue/recovery unit,being the "Johnson County Dive Team".For medical situations,we have a 24 hr. staffed Emergency Dept. and Ambulance Service operated by the Johnson Regional Medical Center.As well as an Air-Evac Helicopter just 15 minutes flight time away.The J.C. "Office of Emergency Managment"works directly with ALL departments,districts, units in the county as well as the "Arkansas Department of Emergency Managament" ,"Arkansas Forestry Commission" and the"U.S. Forest Service"..

The New Fire Station addition opened in Nov.2005
In 1979,with the growth of the community and the nearest Fire Depts. being many miles away(Lamar and Dist.#3),residents of the area decided to form their own fire dept.After a year of research,creating a "Fire Board",training and obtaining donations and grants ,it was time.In 1980 the Lutherville-Holman Volunteer Fire Department was chartered and born.Under the auspices of the Johnson County Office of Emergency Management,it was given the title of "Rural Fire District # 7",being the seventh of fifteen volunteer "Fire Depts."serving Johnson County,Arkansas.By the end of the first year,the original 2 bay station had been built and a truck with the very bare basics needed had been aquired from the Ark.Forestry Dept.There were 21 volunteers that took the first classes towards becoming Ark. Certified FireFighters.The first Fire Chief was lifelong community member Edmond Drittler.Followed several years later by our present "Asst.Fire Chief" John Hull,being followed by our present Fire Chief Gary Crotts.
The department has grown and progressed from a single 1 ton pick-up, equipt with the very basic items needed to fight ALL kinds of fires to a fleet of 2 Engine/Pumpers as well as a Tanker,a Heavy brush support and two quick attack brush trucks.
